Who We Are
We do not have a specific facility. Housing of animals is done through foster homes on a volunteer basis. We do not have animals living in crates or kennels. We have them in foster homes and livestock on farms. We educate animal owners on the proper care of their animals. We will work together with animal owners to place animals in need into loving, forever homes.
Dogs receive the following as routine care:
- Heart Worm & Lyme Desease Testing & Treatment
- Dewormings
- Microchipping
- DHLPPC or DHLPP Vaccines
- Lyme Vaccines
- Kennel Cough Vaccines
- Rabies Vaccines
- Spay & Neuter Surgeries
Dogs may receive bloodwork, dentals, x-rays, or any additional care recommended by our vets.
We adopt to approved homes, including those out of state. We require an application to be completed before meeting a dog.
We are almost always available, but please do not call outside of our posted hours except for dire emergencies. Main contact numbers are 740-579-1990 or 304-312-6882. Please feel free to text.
We are a member of the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce. We are also partnered with Belmont County Sheriff’s Office to build the first dog park in the county.
How We Started
In 2014 a group of devoted volunteers worked diligently through the winter to rescue, rehab and rehome over 30 horses and several neglected dogs. After working together to successfully rehab and rehome them all, 6 of those volunteers decided to pull together resources and begin their own “volunteer based rescue” to aid in the rehabilitation and rehoming of animals.
We are a volunteer and foster based organization only, meaning we have no specific facility but work out of our homes to provide foster care, rehabilitation, evaluations, socialization and training for those animals in need.
